Employment
Tesco (Sept 04 - present)
Work as a general assisstant in the Non-Food section of the shop, mainly the Electrical Department, I prefer to work on the Electrical Desk as sometimes it can be a challenge in dealing with customers and also quite a bit of technical knowledge is needed. I have gained a lot of knowledge and experience in working with the public and have been trained on how to sell things to the customer and be more approachable. During the summer of 2009 I became Team Leader of the Electrical Department. This role entailed myself to lead the team on the day to day tasks while still providing a quality service to customers. Since getting the job I feel I am even more comfortable in working within a team and should be able to progress to the next stage of my career in management. I had to step back down to a general assisstant around september 2009 as I was going back to university and couldn't cope with working full time hours and continuing with my studies.
Golf Range (Ball Picker) (Jan 04 - Sep 04)
During this time I worked at my local golf range "The Pines Golf Centre". I started out as a ball picker using the hand machines to walk around the field and progressed to being able and responsible enough to drive the tractor around the field. The reasons I left this job was to pursue a forseeable career in management at Tesco, after I had finished my degree years.
